Sports Desk: Current world champions Argentina will play two friendly matches in the United States to fine-tune their preparations ahead of the upcoming World Cup. The Argentine Football Federation (AFA) confirmed the schedule on Thursday.
According to the announcement, Argentina will face Honduras on June 6 at Kyle Field in College Station, Texas. Following that, the Latin American giants will take on Iceland on June 9 at Jordan-Hare Stadium in Auburn, Alabama.
The highly anticipated FIFA World Cup is set to kick off on June 11, jointly hosted by the USA, Mexico, and Canada. Argentina has been placed in Group J, where they will compete against Austria, Algeria, and Jordan.
In their quest to defend the title, Argentina will begin their World Cup campaign on June 16 against Algeria. The coaching staff views these two friendlies on American soil as crucial preparation for the tournament.
