Dhaka, September 24, 2023; Khairul Alam : Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has announced its readiness to face any situation in the upcoming twelfth national parliamentary elections, ensuring internal law and order and security verification.
This statement was made by Major General AKM Nazmul Hasan, Director-General of BGB, during the 45th Anniversary Celebration of the Force Support Wing in the capital.
Major General AKM Nazmul Hasan emphasized the rich history and traditions of BGB, which has been tirelessly guarding Bangladesh’s borders for 228 years.
The force played an unforgettable role in the country’s great struggle for independence in 1971.
Since its inception, BGB has been carrying out the vital responsibility of safeguarding the nation’s sovereignty, ensuring border security, and maintaining internal law and order with remarkable skill and professionalism.
He further stated that BGB has been actively supporting civilian administration in ensuring internal law and order, responding to natural disasters, and actively participating in various nation-building and welfare activities.
Major General AKM Nazmul Hasan emphasized that alongside border security, BGB is always prepared to tackle any emergency situation, including the enforcement of election-related law and order, and to play an indispensable role in the country’s organization and public welfare during the election period.
