Dengue Claims 9 More Lives in Bangladesh

Health Desk: Nine more people have died from dengue fever in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of deaths from the disease this year to 436.

In the same 24-hour period, 1,214 new dengue patients were hospitalized, pushing the total number of reported cases to 84,368.

This information was shared in a press release issued by the Health Emergency Operations Center and Control Room of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Thursday, November 21.

According to the statement, the 1,214 newly admitted patients are distributed across various regions as follows:

Since January 1, 2024, a total of 84,368 people have been hospitalized nationwide due to dengue, with 62.90% of them being male and 37.10% female.

The current death toll stands at 436, with women accounting for 50.70% of the deaths and men making up 49.30%.

The dengue situation continues to worsen as the outbreak spreads across the country.
