England Thrash Croatia in Six-Goal Thriller

World Cup Desk – Following a dull clash between Portugal and DR Congo, England and Croatia delivered a high-octane football spectacle.

Spearheaded by Harry Kane and Jude Bellingham, England’s intense pace and relentless pressing ultimately proved too much for Croatia.

Despite a 2-2 deadlock in the first half, England netted two more goals after the break to secure a commanding 4-2 victory over Luka Modrić’s side, avenging their 2018 World Cup semi-final defeat.

Captain Harry Kane led from the front, scoring a brace for England. Although his initial penalty attempt was blocked, he made no mistake on the rebound to open his account.

The English skipper then doubled his tally by nodding home a clinical header from a corner kick.

However, the victory was far from simple. Croatia fought back valiantly, with Martin Baturina unleashing a stunning strike to level the scoring. Just before the halftime whistle, Petar Musa found the back of the net to make it 2-2, keeping Croatia firmly in the contest.

England returned from the interval with a heightened attacking intent, perfectly executing manager Thomas Tuchel’s tactical game plan.

Early in the second half, Jude Bellingham capitalized on a quick counter-attack, sprinting forward to rifle a brilliant angled shot past the keeper and reclaim the lead for England.

Croatia’s goalkeeper Dominik Livaković made a string of extraordinary saves to keep his side’s hopes alive.

However, Croatia eventually crumbled under England’s sustained pressure. In the dying minutes of the match, Marcus Rashford slotted home the final goal to seal a comprehensive win.

With this victory, England secures the top spot in Group L, which also features Panama and Ghana.
