Sheikh Hasina to Kickstart Election Campaign on Wednesday

Ifaz Ehtamad: The Awami League President and Prime Minister, Sheikh Hasina, is set to commence her electoral campaign for the upcoming 12th National Parliament elections from Wednesday.

She will officially launch the campaign through visits to Hazrat Shah Jalal (R.) and Shah Paran’s (R.) shrines in Sylhet.

As per the itinerary, Sheikh Hasina will board a flight from Dhaka to Sylhet on Wednesday morning. Upon arrival, she will pay homage to the two Sufi saints at their respective shrines.

Following the shrine visits, in the afternoon, she is scheduled to address an election rally at the ground of the government Alia Madrasa in Sylhet.

The following day, on Thursday, Sheikh Hasina will virtually join election rallies in various districts of North Bengal. At 3 pm, she will address virtual rallies in Panchagarh and Lalmonirhat of Rangpur Division, Nator and Pabna of Rajshahi Division, and Khagrachari in Chittagong Division.

On December 29, the Awami League President will embark on a journey to Barishal. At 3 pm on that day, she will deliver a speech at an election rally in the Barisal district headquarters.

The next day, December 30, the Prime Minister will visit her hometown Gopalganj first and then head to Madaripur.

On this day, she will address a public gathering in Gopalganj-3 electoral area, followed by participation in an election rally in Madaripur-3 constituency.

The election campaign reflects the heightened political activity leading up to the parliamentary elections, with leaders engaging in both physical and virtual interactions with the public across various regions of Bangladesh.
