Crime Report: In the capital city’s Mahakhali area, a commuter train heading to Dewanganj collided with another train, resulting in the tragic death of three children aged between 12 and 13 years old.
The incident occurred on Saturday, September 23rd, at 7 o’clock in the morning. The bodies of the three children were transported to Dhaka Medical College Hospital for post-mortem examinations later in the evening.
Sunil Chandra, Deputy Inspector of the Airport Police Station, revealed that the three children were walking along the railway line when the accident took place.
They were struck by the commuter train coming from Komlapur towards Dewanganj, leading to their unfortunate demise.
Their bodies were retrieved from the railway line adjacent to pillar number 270 of the Mahakhali Flyover.
Efforts are underway to identify the victims, and the Crime Unit of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has been informed.
Technology is being employed to ascertain the names and identities of the deceased children.
