Foreign Desk: Malaysian passenger plane crash kills 10 The plane crashed in the town of Elmina in the west coast province of Selangor. The accident took place on Thursday (August 17) at around 2:40 pm.
The Chief Executive Officer of the Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia (CAAM) said that the crashed plane was a Beechcraft Model-390.
The flight operated by JetValet Sdn Bhd took off from Langkawi International Airport at 2:08 pm. The plane was to land at the Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport.
The agency said the aircraft made first contact with the air traffic control tower at Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport in Subang at 2.47 p.m.And at 2:48 pm the plane was cleared to land. The scheduled time of landing at Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport was 2:51 pm.
The chief executive officer of the country’s Civil Aviation Authority said that at 2:51 p.m., officers at the control tower saw smoke billowing from the crash site. The pilot did not make an emergency call when the plane crashed.
The plane crashed on a road in the city of Elmina. A car and a motorcycle were turned over there. A car driver and a motorcyclist also died on the road due to the wreckage of the plane.
