Crime Report: The Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit of the police arrested 13 people, including children, from the terrorist hideout in the remote hill area of Kulaura police station in Moulvibazar.
Mohammad Asaduzzaman, the head of this special unit of the police, gave this information to the media present after the operation on Saturday (August 12) morning.
Mohammad Asaduzzaman said, at that time, we had received information that a new extremist organization had inspired a large number of people towards extremism.
We have come to know that he has made his hideout on a hill in Maulvibazar. Yesterday we got the final information. In Dhaka, we arrested a man who had gone to take his family from this terrorist hideout.
The CTTC chief also said that we are capable of arresting him without using force. After taking them into custody, we conducted a massive search of the militant hideout and recovered around 3 kg of explosives and around 50 detonators.
From which grenades and high explosives are made. 10 men and women have been arrested from the militant hideout. Of these, 4 are men and 6 are women. There were also 3 children.
Apart from this, Tk 3 lakh 61 thousand, training equipment, combat boots, boxing bags, and some bags of Jihadi books have been seized.
He said this was a new organization. Its name is Imam Mahmood Kafela. It is a new organization apart from the banned extremist organizations in Bangladesh. We also got the name of the main person in this organization.
