50 junta soldiers killed in Myanmar attack by resistance fighters

Foreign Desk: At least 50 junta soldiers have been killed in an attack by resistance fighters in the Southeast Asian nation of Myanmar.

The death toll comes in the last four days across the country in attacks by fighters from the country’s anti-junta People’s Defense Force group (PDF) and ethnic armed organizations (EAO).

Myanmar media The Irrawaddy reported this information in a report on Friday (September 8). According to reports, Myanmar’s resistance fighters continue to attack the ruling junta forces across the country.

In the past four days, junta forces have lost their lives in Sagaing, Magwe, Mandalay and Taninthari regions, and in Chin, Shan, Som and Karen provinces.

The Irrawaddy says five junta soldiers were killed and six wounded in Yanmabin township of Sagaing region on Wednesday. The casualties occurred when the Union Liberation Front (ULF), comprising 18 resistance groups, clashed with a military unit of 100 soldiers near Kyauk Kon village.

Miaeng UAV Fighters, the drone unit of the Miaeng PDF, said they were accompanied by six resistance groups and bombed military units and military logistics vehicles in the Magwe region on Thursday morning. It is believed that many soldiers of the regime were killed or injured.

Meanwhile, clashes have erupted in towns in the Magwe region. Clashes erupted with regime forces in Saw town in Magwe region on Tuesday night, PDF said.

In Taninthari, there was another attack on a military post. Along with other local resistance groups, they attacked a military checkpoint near Maung Mae Shaung village in Dawei township in Taninthari region on Thursday, said Oak Away column Dawei. Two soldiers were killed and three were injured at that time.
