A Russian spacecraft crashed on the moon

Foreign Desk: Before landing, the Russian spacecraft faced a major problem. Officials said Chandrayaan ‘Luna-25’ lost control and crashed into the moon. There were no people in it.

The Luna-25 rover was preparing to land on the soft surface of the Moon’s south pole. But this happens when problems are encountered.

Russian state space corporation Roscosmos said on Sunday (August 20) morning, ‘Communication with Luna-25 was lost at 2:57 pm on Saturday, August 19.

The spacecraft went into an unpredictable orbit. Later, it collided with the surface of the Moon and was destroyed.

Roscosmos said on Saturday that Luna-25 encountered an emergency during its entry into pre-landing orbit. Roscosmos did not provide details on what kind of emergency had arisen.

It was Russia’s first lunar mission in nearly 50 years. Earlier, Chandrayaan of any country could not reach the South Pole.

However, the United States and China have records of lunar landings on the soft side of the Moon.

The Russian spacecraft was scheduled to land on the moon next Monday. But before that, the news of the accident came.

However, Roscosmos chief Yuriborysov told Russian President Vladimir Putin last June that the operation would not be easy and very risky.
