Senior Reporter — The Government of Bangladesh has officially announced the Hajj packages for the upcoming year 2027, structure-focused on affordability and significantly slashed airfares.
The minimum cost for the government Hajj package has been set at ৳5,05,648, making the pilgrimage more accessible in line with national commitments.
Religious Affairs Minister Kazi Shah Mofazzal Hossain (Kaicobad) unveiled the comprehensive pricing structures during a press conference held at the Secretariat on Tuesday, July 21, 2026.
Detailed Package Breakdown for 2027
The government has structured the pilgrimage into two distinct categories based on accommodation proximity and amenities:
-
Government Package-1 (Premium): Priced at ৳6,15,263. Pilgrims opting for this package will be accommodated within 1,000 to 1,400 meters of the Al-Masjid an-Haram in Mecca, and within the central Markazia area in Medina. It includes Zone-2 tents in Mina and Service Package-3 catering in Mina-Arafah. The standard duration of stay will range from 35 to 40 days, with options to upgrade rooms or choose shorter durations at additional costs.
-
Government Package-2 (Economy/Affordable): Priced at ৳5,05,648. This package offers accommodation located 2 to 3 kilometers away from the Haram Sharif in Mecca, and outside the Markazia zone but within 800 meters of Al-Masjid an-Nabawi in Medina. It features Zone-5 tents in Mina. For accommodations exceeding a 2-kilometer distance, dedicated Salawat bus services will be provided as per Saudi regulations.
Private Sector and Agency Guidelines
For pilgrims registering through private agencies, the government has fixed the cost of the General Private Hajj Package at ৳5,13,648.
“Private agencies must ensure accommodation within a maximum distance of 3 kilometers from the Haram Sharif in Mecca and 1 kilometer from the Prophet’s Mosque in Medina. A maximum of six pilgrims can share one room. Furthermore, no agency will be permitted to offer packages with fewer services or lower standards than the Government’s Package-2,” the Religious Affairs Minister stated.
Private operators are required to form groups based on the minimum quota allocated by the Saudi government prior to commencing registrations.
While adopting the government-approved general package remains mandatory, agencies are allowed to declare up to three additional premium packages through mutual coordination.
Significant Reduction in Airfares
A major highlight of the 2027 declaration is the substantial reduction in Hajj flight fares, driven directly by prime ministerial initiative to ensure a traveler-friendly management system.
The plane fare for the upcoming Hajj season has been slashed by ৳24,830 compared to the previous year, bringing it down to a fixed rate of ৳1,30,000.
Reviewing the historic cost trajectory, the Minister highlighted that airfares peaked close to ৳2,00,000 in 2023 under the previous Sheikh Hasina administration.
It was later reduced to ৳1,67,820 by the interim government in 2025, and has now dropped even further to its current rate.
