Bangladesh-Denmark to work together to ensure safe food

Economic Report: Bangladesh-Denmark will work together to ensure safe food and sustainable food production. An agreement of both countries has been signed in this regard.

A memorandum of understanding was signed between the Bangladesh Safe Food Authority (BFSA) and the Danish Veterinary and Food Administration (DVFA) on Thursday (17 August).

Through the signing of the MoU, both countries will ensure food security, sustainable food production, meet new global challenges, enhance adaptation to change, increase production of agro-fisheries and livestock sectors, exchange of experience, mutual partnership, Assistance in strategic areas and scientific, technical and legal assistance. Countries will help each other.

Food Secretary Ismail Hussain said that this MoU will prove to be an important milestone in ensuring food security in Bangladesh.

It will serve as an important catalyst in our ongoing efforts to enhance safe food standards and legal practices.

Expressing hope that the two countries would create new areas of cooperation and exchange of experience, he said, Denmark has gained a global reputation for poultry and dairy-based food.
Bangladesh can use Denmark’s experience and knowledge to safeguard the dairy sector.
