Dbarta24 Report – In a decisive move to safeguard professional discipline, neutrality, and public confidence, the Supreme Court administration of Bangladesh has officially prohibited lower court judges from engaging in commercial coaching activities.
Issued on Monday night with the approval of the Chief Justice, the new circular applies strictly to all members of the Bangladesh Judicial Service.
It bars judicial officers from participating in any commercial coaching ventures, whether conducted in person or through digital platforms, either directly or indirectly.
Upholding Judicial Integrity and Public Trust
According to the Supreme Court administration, the directive aims to preserve the dignity and impartiality of the judicial service.
Officials emphasized that maintaining the judiciary’s uncompromised integrity is paramount to ensuring that public trust in the legal system remains steadfast.
The circular outlines several specific prohibitions for judicial members:
-
Prohibition on Promotional Use: Judges cannot allow their names, designations, photographs, or official identities to be used directly or indirectly for the advertisement or promotion of commercial coaching on any physical or digital platform.
-
Protection of Confidential Information: Members of the judicial service are strictly forbidden from sharing, supplying, or utilizing any confidential, unpublished, or official information acquired through their judicial duties in connection with any coaching activities.
-
Restrictions on Educational Materials: The directive also bans judges from preparing, editing, publishing, or supplying educational materials intended for commercially operated coaching programs across any media.
Strict Enforcement and Disciplinary Action
The Supreme Court has made it clear that any violation of these directives will carry severe consequences.
Under the newly enforced rules, appropriate disciplinary measures will be taken against any offending member in accordance with the applicable laws and regulations governing service discipline.
This regulatory step by the Supreme Court underscores a zero-tolerance approach toward activities that could potentially compromise the ethical standards of the judiciary.
By distancing judicial officers from commercial ventures like private coaching, the administration aims to reinforce absolute transparency and unwavering dedication to the administration of justice.
