Tech Report: A group of Indian hackers has carried out cyber-attacks on some websites in Bangladesh. Hackers are claiming that the information of 25 government and private institutions of the country has been leaked.
In these, the information of the Investment Corporation of Bangladesh (ICB) and Directorate General of Health Services has also been leaked.
Earlier, before August 15, there was a threat of a major cyber-attack in Bangladesh. After the threat, an alert was issued across the country.
Amidst this warning, there have been allegations of several attacks including information leaks in various public and private offices.
However, the BGD e-Gov Cirt project, which works on the cyber security of the government, has not reported any incident of attack so far.
The director of BGD e-Governance Cirt said on Tuesday (August 16) afternoon, hackers can claim. We’re still monitoring. Until the information is verified, it cannot be said whether it is indeed hacking or not. But everyone should be careful.
Regarding the closed sites, he said that many sites are being updated. Many sites are closed due to security reasons. DID (Distributed Denial of Service) attacks have occurred in six organizations. Those companies fixed the website within a few hours. Nothing serious happened.
Indian hackers claim that they have got hold of over 40,000 records of Bangladesh Bank. The hackers have also leaked some information from the land tax portal of the Ministry of Land.
