Cyber-attacks on 36 websites in six days in Bangladesh 

Crime Report: Cyber-attacks on the government and private institutions of the country are increasing. Between August 15 and August 20, there was a cyber-attack on about 36 websites. The hackers claimed to be Indians.

Cyber-attacks have been carried out on the Bangladesh Bank, National Board of Revenue and various government service sites and websites of Police, Aviation and Army, Investment Corporation.

Even private companies like Square and US-Bangla Airlines have come under attack. The data of many organizations was made open to the public. Most of these attacks are of a statutory nature; the site is kept closed for a specified period of time.

According to sources, a hacker group claiming to be Indian had threatened to carry out a cyber-attack on 15 August. Although it is not a big organized attack, they keep on attacking various important places on a regular basis.

In addition, the group also reported hacking several links of the National Identity Card (NID) server of the online service verification website of various certificates.

The biggest attack happened on 15 August. On this day, websites of public and private institutions fall victim to cyber-attacks.

Of these, the Investment Corporation of Bangladesh (ICB) released 40,000 customer data.

Apart from this, cyber-attacks were carried out on the Railway e-ticket service site for one hour, Bangladesh Bank website for one hour, NBR, BD e-seba online site, flight ticketing site of Sahaj.com, Square Hospital site.
