Health Report : In the last 24 hours, the dengue menace has intensified, resulting in the tragic demise of two individuals. Furthermore, the number of hospitalizations due to dengue has surged to 311 across the country.
In the past 24 hours, two more lives have succumbed to the relentless dengue outbreak, with hospital admissions soaring to 311 nationwide.
Official Statement: On Tuesday (December 12), the Health Emergency Operations Center and Control Room released a press statement conveying the alarming situation regarding dengue. According to the statement, within the last 24 hours, a total of 311 individuals have been admitted to hospitals nationwide due to dengue. Among them, 80 are in Dhaka, and 231 are from various regions outside Dhaka City.
Casualties and Hospital Discharges: Within the same period, 375 dengue patients have been discharged from hospitals across the country. Notably, 96 individuals from Dhaka and 279 from different hospitals outside Dhaka City have been released.
Fatalities: The press release disclosed that in the past 24 hours, two individuals have lost their lives to dengue nationwide. Fortunately, there have been no reported deaths within Dhaka City.
Yearly Dengue Statistics: This year alone, the dengue outbreak has claimed the lives of 1,667 individuals. Dhaka has reported 961 deaths, while 706 casualties have occurred outside Dhaka City.
Overall Dengue Cases: Up to December 12 this year, a staggering 3,17,956 individuals have been affected by dengue, with 181,181 cases in Dhaka and 217,775 cases reported outside Dhaka City.
Hospital Discharges and Current Admissions: In the ongoing battle against dengue, a total of 314,308 patients have been discharged from hospitals, including 107,645 from Dhaka and 206,663 from various hospitals outside Dhaka City. Presently, there are 981 dengue patients undergoing treatment in hospitals nationwide, with 575 in Dhaka and 406 in hospitals outside Dhaka City.
Public Health Crisis: The press release emphasized the severity of the current dengue outbreak, with a discharge rate from hospitals reaching an impressive 99%. The hospitalization rate stands at 100%, while the mortality rate remains at 0.5%.
Annual Dengue Report: From January 1 to December 31 last year, a total of 62,382 individuals were admitted to various hospitals across the country due to dengue, resulting in 281 fatalities.
