Egypt Embassy issues mandatory transit visa guidelines for Bangladeshi travelers

Online Desk – The Embassy of Egypt in Dhaka has issued critical new guidelines for Bangladeshi citizens planning to travel through the country.

In an official notice released on Monday (May 25), the embassy announced that, as per the latest decision by Egyptian authorities, it is now mandatory for Bangladeshi travelers to secure a transit visa before arriving in Egypt.

To prevent any travel disruptions or complications, the embassy highlighted four essential requirements in its official directive:

  • 1. Prior Visa Acquisition: For those transiting through Egypt to another destination, the transit visa must be obtained in advance from the Embassy of Egypt in Dhaka before commencing the journey.

  • 2. Valid Passport and Destination Credentials: Travelers must hold a valid passport. Additionally, they must possess a valid visa or residence permit (where applicable) for their final destination country.

  • 3. Defined Transit Itinerary: Egypt must be explicitly included as an official transit point in the traveler’s flight itinerary en route to their final destination.

  • 4. Compliance with Immigration Policies: Entry into Egypt remains entirely subject to the country’s sovereign immigration laws. Authorities will strictly verify that the traveler is not included in any of Egypt’s entry-ban or blacklists.

The embassy has strongly advised all passengers to secure their transit visas prior to booking flights or starting their journey to avoid any unwanted situations, delays, or boarding denials.

For further details regarding the visa application process and specific requirements, travelers are requested to contact the consular section of the Egyptian Embassy in Dhaka directly.
