Desk Report: It has been made evident that proof of submitting income tax returns must be displayed at places such as business establishments.
Otherwise, businesses may face fines ranging from Tk 5,000 to Tk 20,000. The National Board of Revenue (NBR) has made it mandatory to display proof of income tax return submission.
According to the directive, Section 265 of the Income Tax Law requires proof of income tax return submission to be displayed prominently at business premises.
Failure to display the proof may result in penalties imposed by the Deputy Commissioner, ranging from Tk 5,000 to Tk 20,000.
All business establishments obligated to submit income tax returns are instructed to ensure that proof of return submission is prominently displayed.
The deadline for submitting income tax returns for the fiscal year 2023-24 for company categories has been extended until April 30. Previously, the deadline for income tax return submission for company categories was February 28.
