Sports Desk: Germany once again showcased their formidable strength by demolishing Bosnia and Herzegovina 7-0 in a UEFA Nations League match on Saturday.
Known for their ruthless attacking style, Germany has been a nightmare for their opponents whenever they get into gear—and this match was no exception.
Bosnia and Herzegovina felt the full force of Germany’s offensive as they suffered a crushing defeat at the Europa-Park Stadium.
Germany had already secured their spot in the Nations League quarterfinals from Group A-3, so the match was more of a formality.
However, despite the lack of stakes, Germany was determined to make a statement and demonstrate their dominance ahead of the 2026 World Cup.
Under the management of Julian Nagelsmann, who took over the team in 2023, this was Germany’s biggest win to date.
The goals came thick and fast, with two from both Tim Kleindienst and Florian Wirtz, while Jamal Musiala, Kai Havertz, and Leroy Sané added one goal each to complete the rout.
After the match, Germany’s head coach, Nagelsmann, said: “There were no injuries today, and our counter-pressing was exceptional. Scoring seven goals against an opponent is a deep feeling.
We wanted to win and move the ball quickly. We looked for quick transitions and opportunities, and we did things that we didn’t do in the Euros (in June). We played really well.”
Germany will play their final group-stage match against Hungary on Tuesday. With 13 points from five matches, Germany is currently at the top of the group, and even a loss in the final game will not affect their position.
The Netherlands, with 8 points from the same number of games, has also secured their place in the quarterfinals, finishing second in the group.
