Heavy Rain Across Bangladesh, Six Districts on Alert for Storms

Staff Report: Due to a low-pressure system in the Bay of Bengal, rain has affected the entire country since yesterday, bringing some relief from the heat.

This morning, Dhaka experienced overcast skies and light rain.

However, the rain-producing low-pressure has weakened.

Despite this, further rainfall is expected today in Dhaka and various other regions.

The Meteorological Department has warned that six districts may experience strong winds accompanied by rain or thunderstorms.

Forecasts indicate that from tomorrow, Friday, rainfall will decrease, and temperatures may rise again.

However, there is a possibility of rain returning from October 1st.

Earlier this month, the Meteorological Department predicted normal rainfall throughout September.

As of now, heavy rain or thunderstorms are anticipated in six districts, including Patuakhali, Comilla, Noakhali, Chittagong, Cox’s Bazar, and Sylhet.

These areas have been advised to display signal number 1 for maritime warnings, with wind speeds expected to reach 45 to 60 kilometers per hour from the southeast.
