Muabia Laboni, Dhaka: Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL), the operator of the metro rail service, has announced that the metro rail will not operate on the upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr day.
At a press conference held on Sunday evening at the DMTCL’s conference room in Eskaton, the Managing Director, M.A.N. Siddique, disclosed this information.
He stated that similar to last year, the metro rail service will remain suspended on Eid day. Additionally, during the month of Ramadan, the service will be suspended every Friday as usual.
There will be no changes in the schedule for the first 15 days of Ramadan. However, during the last 15 days, the operating hours will be extended by one hour in both directions. The last train from Motijheel will depart at 9:40 PM, and from Uttara, it will depart at 9:00 PM.
This decision has been made to accommodate the increased demand for transportation during the festive season and to ensure the convenience of passengers.
