PTI Withdraws Anti-Government Protest in Islamabad

Desk Report: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party, led by former Prime Minister Imran Khan, has called off its anti-government protest in Islamabad, which had been ongoing for three days.

The announcement was made early Wednesday morning by the party’s leadership.

In a press release, PTI’s central media cell stated, “In light of the government’s brutality and the plan to turn the capital into a slaughterhouse for unarmed citizens, we are temporarily suspending our peaceful protest.”

The former ruling party also mentioned that it would announce further steps based on instructions from Imran Khan, the party’s founder.

The PTI protest began on November 24 in Islamabad. A spokesperson for the party reported that at least seven people had been killed during the protests.

The deceased individuals have been identified as Anis Shehzad Satti, Malik Mubin Aurangzeb, Abdul Qadir, Malik Safdar Ali, Ahmed Wali, Muhammad Ilyas, and Abdul Rashid.
