Khairul Alam, Dhaka: General Secretary of the Awami League and Minister of Bridges and Land Transport Obaidul Quader today called for resistance to evil power like the BNP as the party is the “mastermind” behind the murders and conspiracies in Bangladesh.
The minister told reporters after paying respects to Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunsa Mujib at Banani’s tomb here on the occasion of his 93rd birthday this morning.
Describing the BNP as the “mastermind” behind assassinations and plots in Bangladesh, the ruling party leader said:
Plots that began in the country in 1975 with the assassination of Bangabandhu on August 15, the assassination of four national leaders on November 3, and the grenade attack on August 21, 2004, in which Bangabandhu’s daughter Sheikh Hasina was the main target.”
Even of the killing of 23 people, including prominent Awami League leader Aivy Rehman, Quader said, only BNP is behind all these killings, adding, “BNP is the mastermind behind the assassinations and plots in Bangladesh.”
Referring to the contribution of Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunsa Mujib, wife of the nation’s father Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, Quader said that today the nation is celebrating her 93rd birth anniversary as she will be remembered for her “remarkable” sacrifice.
