Rangamati Correspondent: The Rangamati District Administration has advised tourists against visiting Sajek Valley until further notice.
This directive was issued in a notification signed by Additional District Magistrate Md. Saiful Islam on Thursday, October 3.
The notice emphasizes that the order is a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of tourists.
Previously, from September 25, tourists were discouraged from traveling to Sajek in three separate advisories lasting three days each.
Now, the new order extends this warning indefinitely.
Meanwhile, the Khagrachari District Administration has also advised against tourist visits to all local attractions until October 4.
This decision was announced in a notification signed by Additional District Magistrate Rozline Shahid Chowdhury following a meeting of the district core committee.
The advisory comes in the wake of rising violence between the Bengali and indigenous communities in Khagrachari and Rangamati since the murder of a Bengali individual on September 17.
After this incident, the authorities had already issued three warnings against tourism in Sajek.
The situation further deteriorated following the brutal killing of a teacher from Khagrachari Technical School and College on October 1, prompting the latest advisory against tourism in the area.
