Khairul Alam ; Travel Desk: Sajek Valley has emerged as one of the most popular destinations for travel enthusiasts in Bangladesh. Located in the Baghaichhari upazila of Rangamati district, Sajek holds the title of being the largest union in the country.
Sitting at an elevation of 1,800 feet above sea level, it offers an incredible landscape of rolling hills and cotton-like clouds.
Even though it is geographically in Rangamati, traveling to Sajek via Dighinala in Khagrachari is much easier. Sajek is located 70 km away from Khagrachari town and 40 km from Dighinala.
Key Attractions: What to See
Sajek is a magical place where you can witness three distinct moods of nature in a single day—sudden warmth, unexpected rain, or thick blankets of fog enveloping your surroundings in the blink of an eye.
-
Konglak Hill: The ultimate attraction for tourists, Konglak Hill is located in Konglak Para, the last village of Sajek Valley, which is predominantly inhabited by the Lusai community. From here, visitors can see the Lusai Hills of India, the source of the Karnaphuli River.
-
Komalok Waterfall: Adventure seekers can enjoy a two-hour trek from Ruilui Para to visit this beautiful waterfall, also known to locals as Pidam Taisa or Sikam Taisa Waterfall.
-
Helipad Sunrise & Sunset: To catch the breathtaking dance of clouds during sunrise, travelers must head to the helipads early in the morning. Higher points across the valley offer captivating sunset views, while the night sky boasts millions of stars and glimpses of the Milky Way on clear nights.
-
Nearby Spots: On the return journey, travelers can also explore Hazachhara Waterfall, Dighinala Hanging Bridge, and Dighinala Bon
Best Time to Visit
While Sajek remains picturesque year-round, the peak season for viewing the play of clouds is from July to November.
