Diplomatic Correspondent – In a major move to streamline international travel, Saudi Arabia has rolled out a new integrated “visa package” initiative for citizens of seven countries, including Bangladesh.
Under this newly launched framework, travelers can secure an electronic tourism visa (e-visa) seamlessly by booking an approved travel itinerary, entirely eliminating the need to undergo a separate standalone visa application process.
According to a report by Gulf News on Friday, the Saudi Ministry of Tourism confirmed that the first phase of this rollout is specifically tailored for nationals of Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, Egypt, Jordan, Indonesia, and Mexico.
The initiative is expected to be expanded to include additional nations in subsequent phases.
A Unified Booking Experience
The newly introduced system functions as an all-in-one travel solution. Instead of routing through traditional channels or visiting a Saudi embassy, travelers can concurrently purchase their round-trip flight tickets, reserve accommodations at certified hotels, and obtain their e-visa through a single transactional booking.
Data from the Saudi Ministry of Tourism indicates that the e-visa will be processed and issued within 48 hours of purchasing the comprehensive package from an authorized travel agency.
Once approved, the electronic visa, travel insurance, and all relevant transit documentation will be sent directly to the traveler’s email. Currently, two prominent travel agencies—Reservaly and Almosafer—have been officially designated to facilitate these consolidated services.
Package Costs and Visa Logistics
The regulatory framework for the newly designed program specifies several clear conditions regarding length of stay and minimum expenditures:
-
Validity and Duration: The e-visa issued under this program is valid for three months as a single-entry visa. Travelers are permitted a minimum stay of two days and a maximum stay of 88 days within the Kingdom.
-
Mandatory Inclusion: Each package must include guaranteed round-trip flights, e-visa processing, and accommodation at a minimum of a four-star hotel approved by the Ministry of Tourism.
-
Pricing Structure: The baseline package price for an adult starts at 4,000 Saudi Riyals (SAR) for the initial two days. Each subsequent day will incur an incremental charge of 1,000 SAR.
-
Visa Costs: The comprehensive visa fee, which covers both the e-visa issuance and the mandatory travel insurance, is fixed at 402.21 SAR.
Travelers also have the flexibility to customize their itineraries by paying additional fees to include entry tickets for various events, festivals, and recreational activities across the country.
Travel Freedom vs. Pilgrimage Services
The Ministry clarified that these standard tourism packages do not natively integrate formal Umrah-specific arrangements or institutional lodging coordinates inside the holy cities of Makkah and Madinah.
However, once inside the territory, e-visa holders retain absolute freedom of movement and are legally permitted to visit any location across Saudi Arabia, including Makkah and Madinah.
In the event of unforeseen disruptions or cancellations affecting flights and hotel arrangements, financial refunds or modifications to the booking will be strictly governed by the standard consumer policies of the respective authorized travel agency.
This dynamic shifts Saudi Arabia closer toward its Vision 2030 target of turning the country into a premier global tourism hub.
By removing the bureaucratic red tape usually associated with visa applications, the automated 48-hour e-visa model drastically simplifies accessibility for Bangladeshi tourists and business travelers alike, establishing a faster, highly reliable pathway to explore the Kingdom.
