Staff Reporter; DHAKA – Following intelligence reports of potential threats to key installations, security has been tightened at all airports across Bangladesh, with a particular focus on Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA).
Air Vice Marshal Md. Mostafa Mahmud Siddiq, Chairman of the Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB), confirmed the heightened security measures on Monday.
Intelligence Alerts Trigger High Alert
The decision comes after Police Headquarters issued a formal warning letter to airport authorities regarding potential militant threats.
In response, CAAB immediately enforced high-level alert protocols across all aviation hubs.
All law enforcement units operating within the airports have been directed to implement special security measures.
Surveillance has been significantly increased around critical infrastructure and high-traffic zones within the terminals.
Increased Vigilance and Manpower
To counter any security risks, additional personnel from various security agencies have been deployed.
This includes both uniformed officers and plainclothes investigators to ensure comprehensive monitoring.
Officials stated that the full security apparatus is now in place, considering all possible threat dimensions to ensure the safety of passengers and airport assets.
