Japanese Firm Submits Proposal to Operate Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport’s Third Terminal

Dbarta24 Report – A Japanese sub-working group officially submitted its technical and financial proposals for the operation and maintenance of the newly constructed Third Terminal at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA) on Tuesday.

The proposal was formally handed over to the Chairman of the Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB), Air Vice Marshal Md. Mostafa Mahmud Siddique, by Masahiro Hirai on behalf of the Japanese entity at the CAAB headquarters in Dhaka.
 
Senior officials from CAAB and members of the Japanese delegation attended the submission ceremony.

According to a CAAB press release, the submission includes separate technical and financial documents.
 
These documents will undergo a structured evaluation process led by a dedicated Proposal Evaluation Committee formed by the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism.

The multi-agency evaluation committee comprises representatives from CAAB (Administration, Operations, and Planning), the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism, the Prime Minister’s Office, the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Authority, and the Roads and Highways Department.

The evaluation process will proceed in phases, starting with the technical evaluation, followed by the financial assessment.
 
Upon successful completion of these evaluations, formal negotiations will begin to finalize the terms before setting an official contract signing date.
