Sheikh Hasina: Chhatra League is involved in every achievement of Bangladesh

Khairul Alam: Awami League President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said that today’s Chhatra League is an organization created by the father of the nation, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. Chhatra League is intimately involved with every movement struggle and every achievement of Bangladesh.

He said these things while speaking as the chief guest at a student meeting organized by the Chhatra League at the historical Suhrawardy Udyan on Friday (September 1) afternoon.

The Prime Minister said, that if we look at the accounts of martyrs, we will see that Chhatra League has played a leading role in the struggle to achieve every achievement with blood.

The history of the Chhatra League is the history of Bengalis – this was said by the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. This is literally true.

When we were abroad and could not come back to the country, the demand for our return was first made by the Chhatra League.

Thus, the Chhatra League has played an active role in any disaster in Bangladesh.

He said, Chhatra League was established for the liberation of the liberation-seeking people. The rulers of Pakistan tried to impose Urdu on us to take away our mother tongue. The first blow came to our language. Students of Dhaka University protested against it.

The head of government said, I was once a member of the Chhatra League. All those who are still in my cabinet came from the Chhatra League.

Chhatra League has a role in every work that we have been able to play a leading role in the country. This organization was created with the idea, that organization can take a country forward. Chhatra League did not compromise on 1/11. At that time, our students were the first to protest.

Awami League General Secretary and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader also addressed the student rally under the chairmanship of Chhatra League president Saddam Hossain. The general secretary of BCL Sheikh Wali Asif Inan presided over the students meeting.
