Khairul Alam: Awami League President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina directed leaders and activists to play a stronger role against rumors and misinformation through social media by breaking inaction.
She said, ‘We made digital Bangladesh. And taking advantage of this, BNP-Jamaat is spreading misinformation and various rumors against us at home and abroad.
She said these things in a special meeting with several central leaders of Awami League and associate-fraternal organization presidents, general secretaries, office-sub-offices, and publicity secretaries at Ganobhaban on Wednesday (6 September).
Addressing the party leaders, Sheikh Hasina said that the importance of social media should be understood. Correct information should be presented. Leaders and activists at all levels should fight with truth against lies. Then the people of the country will not be confused.
According to several party sources, the meeting started at 12:30 pm. Awami League President Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina gave various directions to the party leaders and workers regarding the upcoming national parliament elections in the meeting which lasted for about an hour.
The president and general secretary of several organizations affiliated and fraternal to Awami League were present in the meeting.
According to sources, several leaders said in the meeting that many of us are working through social media. But everyone should be more active. If we can activate all our leaders and activists then we can dominate the social media within the next two months.
