Health Desk: Walking just 4,000 steps a day reduces the risk of dying from any cause. This information has come from the largest study ever conducted.
According to research, more walking has more health benefits. The study report was published in a European Journal. It is now well established that a sedentary lifestyle is associated with poor health.
But until this study, it was unclear whether a minimum number of feet to walk is good for health or an upper limit. In this, the data of 226 thousand 889 people from the last 17 studies was reviewed.
These people were followed for an average of seven years to assess the health effects of daily walking. Its known according to the study walking at least 3,967 steps per day reduces the risk of dying from any cause. If anyone walks 2,337 steps per day reduces the risk of death from heart disease.
Additionally, walking 1,000 steps per day reduced all-cause mortality by 15 percent. And walking 500 steps per day has been found to reduce the risk of heart disease by 7 percent.
According to the World Health Organization, insufficient physical activity is the fourth leading cause of death in the world. The number of deaths related to it is 32 lakh every year.
