The ‘Dengue’ app has come at the end of the season

Khairul Alam: Although the government has taken various measures to control the dengue situation, its prevalence is not decreasing. In the meantime, dengue cases this year have reached 1 lakh 33 thousand 134. 646 people died.

In such a situation, the health department is launching a mobile app called ‘Dengue’. The app will be released on Tuesday (5 September).

Health Minister Zahid Malek is scheduled to attend the launch of the ‘Dengue’ app at Dhaka Medical as the chief guest. Earlier in 2019, such an app was launched to control the Aedes mosquito, but it did not get a response.

According to the sources of the Department of Health, doctors and health workers can do ‘fluid management’ of dengue patients through the new app.

This app will know when and how much fluid the patient needs. Apart from this, common people will know how many beds are vacant in any hospital. During Corona such service is provided through Corona.bd website.

Nazmul Islam, director of the disease control branch of the health department, said, “The app making is a new initiative of the government. This time, initiatives have been taken to manage dengue patients and control Aedes mosquitoes using technology.

Earlier in 2019, five ministries and departments of the government and four organizations jointly developed an app called ‘Stop Dengue’. It was said to increase public awareness about dengue through that app. If you see the source of Aedes mosquito or water accumulation somewhere, you are asked to take a picture and upload it to the app. But even in five years there was no response.
