Health Desk- In the last 24 hours, eight people have died across the country due to measles and measles-related symptoms.
Among them, one death has been officially confirmed as measles by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), while the remaining seven passed away with suspected symptoms.
The Health Emergency Operation Center and Control Room of the DGHS released this data on Wednesday (May 13) afternoon.
Cumulative Statistics Since March 15
According to official records provided by the DGHS, the outbreak has seen a significant rise in cases over the past two months:

Confirmed Deaths: 69 individuals have died from confirmed measles since March 15.

Suspected Deaths: The number of deaths with suspected measles symptoms stands at 363.

Confirmed Cases: A total of 7,150 people have tested positive for the virus.

Suspected Cases: The number of suspected infections has reached 53,056.
Hospitalization and Recovery
The report further highlights the pressure on the healthcare system. So far, 38,054 individuals have been hospitalized with measles symptoms.
On a more positive note, 33,832 patients have recovered and been discharged from various hospitals across the country.
Health officials continue to monitor the situation closely, urging citizens to ensure children are vaccinated and to seek medical attention immediately if symptoms appear.
