Measles Outbreak in Bangladesh: 12 More Children Die in 24 Hours

Health Desk- A total of 12 children have died of measles and measles-related symptoms across the country in the last 24 hours.

Among them, four deaths have been officially confirmed as measles cases by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), while the remaining eight died with symptoms of the disease.

The Health Emergency Operation Center and Control Room of the DGHS released this information on Friday afternoon.

According to DGHS data, a total of 74 children have died from confirmed measles cases since March 15 this year.

During the same period, the number of suspected measles-related deaths has reached 377.

Statistically, 7,416 people have been confirmed infected with measles since March 15, while the number of suspected cases stands at 55,611.

So far, 40,176 people have been admitted to hospitals with suspected measles, and 36,055 patients have recovered and been discharged.
