Khairul Alam; DHAKA: The National Parliament has passed 24 bills today, including the ‘July Mass Uprising Memorial Museum Bill 2026’ and the ‘July Warrior Welfare and Rehabilitation Bill 2026’. These bills aim to codify ordinances issued by the interim government into formal law.
Speaker Hafiz Uddin Ahmed Bir Bikrom announced that with today’s 24 approvals, a total of 91 bills have been passed so far in the current session.
The proceedings took place on the 13th day of the first session of the 13th National Parliament. Since there were no amendments proposed for most of the bills, they were passed by a unanimous vote after being moved by the respective ministers.
Out of 133 ordinances issued during the interim government’s tenure, a special parliamentary committee recommended passing 98 without changes and 15 with amendments. Of the remaining 20, four were scrapped, and 16 were advised to be reintroduced as more robust new bills.
