Foreign Desk: A senior Indian Foreign Ministry official remarked that the country’s future, including India’s security, is linked to Bangladesh. According to him, both countries can do many things together.

There is a lot left to be done in matters like renewable energy and conservation of Sundarbans, he added.

The name of this senior Indian officer is Smita Panth. She is working as Joint Secretary (Bangladesh, Myanmar) in the Indian Ministry of External Affairs.

She said these things on Tuesday (15 August)  at a function organized in the capital New Delhi on the death anniversary of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

Smita Panth said that Bangabandhu and his family members were brutally murdered in 1975, but the killers could not defeat his ideology.

There are very few people equal to Bangabandhu in history and today the dream of Bangabandhu is coming true.

She also said that people have rejected fundamentalism. Bangladesh is on track to become a middle-income country and contributes more peacekeepers to the United Nations than any other country. The noble struggle for freedom, we are also with them.
