Khairul Alam From Mirpur Stadium – Pakistan’s pacer Mohammad Abbas has dismantled Bangladesh’s lower-middle order, sent Mehidy Hasan Miraz back to the pavilion shortly after dismissing Litton Das.
Miraz, who managed only 10 runs, became Abbas’s second victim of the session, leaving Bangladesh six wickets down.
On the second day of the first Test at Mirpur this Saturday (May 9), Miraz attempted to guide a delivery outside the off-stump through the point region. However, he failed to keep it down, finding the safe hands of Imam-ul-Haq.
Bangladesh’s score stood at 356/6 following his departure.
Earlier in the session, Abbas also claimed the crucial wicket of Litton Das. Litton, scoring 33, attempted to pull a ball well outside the off-stump but ended up offering a catch at mid-on with the team score at 338.
Despite the quick wickets, veteran batter Mushfiqur Rahim remains the anchor for the hosts. Celebrating his 39th birthday today, Mushfiqur looked in sublime touch, securing his 23rd Test fifty.
He remains unbeaten on 62, carrying the hopes of a massive first-inning total for Bangladesh.
