Local Correspondent, Narshingdi: In a tragic incident that unfolded on Friday night, September 15th, in Narshingdi’s Shibpur area, a collision between a microbus and a truck has resulted in the loss of three lives and left two individuals injured.
Narshingdi Fire Service and Civil Defense’s Senior Station Master, Abdul Mannan Ansari, confirmed the details of the incident.
The injured individuals have been identified as Hasina Begum (39) and Sanjida Begum (19), both residents of Shibchar in Madaripur district. They are currently receiving medical treatment at Narshingdi 100-Bed Specialized Hospital.
This incident follows another tragic collision that occurred on the same Friday night around 10 PM in the Vitimorjal area of Raypura Upazila in Narshingdi. In this separate accident, three people lost their lives when a CNJ (Comilla-Narayanganj) Auto Rickshaw was hit from behind by a bus. Three others sustained injuries, including the bus driver.
According to Station Master Abdul Mannan Ansari, the collision in Shibpur involved a microbus and a truck, occurring around 2 AM. Promptly, a national emergency response was initiated, leading to the retrieval of three lifeless bodies from the scene.
The injured victims were swiftly transported to Narshingdi Sadar Hospital for medical care. Moreover, the deceased have been handed over to the Itakhola Highway Police for further investigation.
This tragic series of accidents serves as a stark reminder of the urgent need for improved road safety measures in Narshingdi and beyond. Authorities are urged to take action to prevent such devastating incidents from occurring in the future.
