Sports Report: There is to be a ‘sandwich’ series between the Asia Cup and the World Cup in Bangladesh. The New Zealand cricket team is coming to Dhaka on 17 September to play a three-match ODI series.
All the matches of the home ODI series against the Kiwis will be played at the Mirpur Sher-e-Bangla Stadium. Three day-night matches will be played on 21, 23, and 26 September from 2 pm.
It is known that after the ODI World Cup, the New Zealand Test team will come to Bangladesh to play 2 Tests in November.
The guests will step into Dhaka on November 21 to play the series as part of the 2023-25 Test Championship.
The first test is to be played from 28 November to 2 December and the second test from 6-10 December. However, the venue of the test has not been announced yet.
This is the first time since 2013 that the Kiwi team has come to Bangladesh to play ODIs and Tests.
Bangladesh is preparing fiercely before the upcoming Asia Cup. Shakib Al Hasan is scheduled to leave the country on August 26 to play in the tournament.
Bangladesh’s first match will be against Sri Lanka in Kandy on 31 August. Their second match of the tournament will be held in Lahore on 3 September.
