Health Desk: In the last 24 hours, 10 people have succumbed to dengue fever across the country, bringing the total death toll due to dengue to 1,096 in the ongoing year. Additionally, 2,660 new dengue patients have been admitted to hospitals within the same timeframe.
According to the Health Department, from 8 AM on Sunday to 8 AM on Monday, 2,660 individuals were admitted to various government and private hospitals across the country after being affected by dengue fever.
Among them, 649 patients are residents of Dhaka, while 2,111 are from outside the capital. Out of the 10 deaths reported, six occurred in Dhaka, and the remaining four were from areas outside Dhaka.
From January 1st to October 9th of the current year, a total of 2,26,224 people have been admitted to hospitals with dengue. Among them, 88,883 were treated in hospitals in the capital, and 1,37,381 were treated in hospitals outside Dhaka.
In the ongoing year, dengue has claimed the lives of 1,096 individuals in the country, with 691 deaths occurring in Dhaka and 405 in areas outside Dhaka.
Within the last 24 hours, 630 dengue patients across the country have been discharged from hospitals after recovering. Among them, 713 were residents of Dhaka, while 917 were from outside Dhaka.
