Dengue Claims 12 Lives, 2,129 Admitted to Hospitals Nationwide

Health Desk: From Thursday, 8:00 AM, to Friday, 8:00 AM, a total of 2,129 new dengue cases were reported across the country, as per an announcement from the Health Emergency Operations Center and Control Room of the Ministry of Health.

Among the afflicted, 843 patients were admitted to various hospitals in Dhaka, while 1,286 were admitted to hospitals outside the capital.

During this period, 12 more lives were lost to dengue, bringing the death toll to 12.

According to the press release, there are currently 9,891 dengue patients receiving treatment in both government and private hospitals nationwide. In Dhaka, 4,116 patients are being treated, while 5,875 are undergoing treatment in hospitals across other regions.

In the past year, dengue has affected a total of 161,964 individuals across the country, requiring hospitalization. Of these, 71,503 were treated in Dhaka, while 90,461 received medical care outside the capital.

Out of those afflicted, 151,283 have now recovered and returned home. In Dhaka, 66,940 have been discharged, while 84,343 have been released from hospitals in other areas.

This year, the dengue outbreak has claimed the lives of 790 individuals so far.
