DMP commissioner’s warning on extremists and elections

Crime Report: August is the month of mourning. Unpleasant incidents have happened more this month.  Several terrorists have been arrested this month from Mirpur in the capital and Kulaura in Maulvibazar.

More terrorists may be hiding in different parts of the country, including the capital with plans of sabotage. That’s why you have to be more careful with them in the last few days of this month.

This warning was given by Police Commissioner Khandkar Golam Farooq to the field level police officers at the monthly crime conference (crime review meeting) at DMP headquarters on Sunday (20 August).

He said that September is very important in the political field. Several events may unfold this month around the upcoming National Assembly elections.

Police should be very careful about possible political agendas. Everyone should show professionalism in the performance of their duties. If there is any danger of sabotage or the creation of an unstable environment, then action should be taken on the basis of prior information.

If any untoward incident happens, it should be immediately brought under the purview of the law. In this monthly crime review meeting in the month of July, the DMP commissioner honored the winners in various categories by giving them prizes for good work.
