Khairul Alam: Mohammad Khursheed Alam Khan, senior lawyer of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) requested former US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton come to Bangladesh to monitor the proceedings of Nobel laureate economist and founder of Grameen Bank Dr. Muhammad Yunus.
On Wednesday (August 30), the ACC lawyer said in the Supreme Court premises, he will understand when he comes to the labor court. What did Yunus do with the workers? Criticizing without seeing is doing us wrong.
He said I promise you (Hillary Clinton) that I will fully cooperate. I will show you a copy of the judgment of the Labor Court and the High Court. Observe and discuss everything. If you do not understand, then bring two experts. Then give your decision.
The ACC lawyer also said, “I think it is unbecoming of a world leader like you to make observations based only on emotions without knowing anything.”
Earlier on Tuesday (August 29), a tweet was made. Hillary Clinton called on world leaders to stand with Yunus. It contained statements of more than 160 world leaders sent to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
Hillary Clinton writes, that more than 160 world leaders, including me, are humanitarians and Nobel laureates in the field of peace, I stand with Dr. Mohammad Yunus. I call on them to join me in my position and demand an end to this oppression.
The statement by 160 people includes the names of former US President Barack Obama and several world leaders and Nobel laureates. In the statement, he expressed concern about democracy and human rights in Bangladesh.
