Special correspondent ; Dhaka – The High Court has declined to hear a writ petition seeking a stay on the upcoming Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) elections scheduled for June 7.
Dismissing the plea, the court explicitly stated that it will not interfere in the board’s electoral process.

Senior Advocate Mohsin Rashid stood for the petitioner during the hearing. On the other hand, Attorney General Md. Ruhul Quddus Kazal represented the state, while Barrister Mahin M. Rahman appeared on behalf of the BCB.
Following the court session, Barrister Mahin M. Rahman confirmed the decision to journalists, stating, “The court clearly mentioned that it will not interfere in the BCB elections in any manner.”
The writ petition seeking a postponement of the June 7 polls was filed by an individual named Mosharraf Hossain.
Prior to this, on May 16, a separate writ petition was filed in the High Court by 12 individuals, including former cricketers and board officials, seeking the dissolution of the 11-member BCB ad-hoc committee led by Tamim Iqbal.
