Israel-Hamas Conflict Escalates: Death Toll Reaches 800, Gaza Blockaded

Foreign Desk: The number of casualties in Israel has risen to 800 due to the Hamas attack. The country’s Ministry of Health has reported that as of Monday (October 9), 2,506 people have been injured, including 23 in critical condition and 353 with severe injuries, as a result of the ongoing conflict.

On the other hand, the Hamas-led Health Ministry claims that the number of fatalities in Gaza due to Israel’s attacks has reached 560. Additionally, there have been 2,900 Palestinian injuries in response to Israel’s actions.

Israel has imposed a “comprehensive blockade” on Gaza, according to the country’s Defense Minister, Yoav Gallant.

This includes cutting off electricity, preventing the entry of food and fuel, and restricting the movement of people.

Gaza has been under blockade from air, land, and sea since 2007. Following the recent Hamas attacks, the over 2 million residents of Gaza are suffering from a shortage of water, power outages, and a lack of medical supplies and essential resources.

In response to Hamas’ attack, Israel has called up three lakh reserve soldiers. On Monday (October 9), Israel’s Defense Forces (IDF) announced that Hagar, an IDF reserve unit, would be activated.

Previously, there was information about calling up one lakh reserve soldiers, but the situation has led to an increase in that number to three lakhs.
