Political Report: In 11 cases filed against BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia on charges of sabotage and treason, the court has fixed September 13 as the date for her appearance. Khaleda Zia was to appear in these matters on Sunday, but due to illness she could not appear in court.
In this context, when his lawyer asked for time, the court gave time. Out of 11 cases, a day was fixed for a hearing regarding receipt of a charge sheet in one case of murder in Jatrabari police station.
Today (20 August) was the day of hearing of the charges in the other 10 cases. On January 25, 2016, a sedition case was filed against Khaleda Zia in court for making controversial remarks on the number of martyrs in the liberation struggle.
Meanwhile, on the night of 23 January 2015, a passenger bus of Glory Transport was attacked with a petrol bomb in the katerpul area of Jatrabari. 29 passengers on the bus got scorched and one died during treatment.
Apart from this, in 2015, eight cases of vandalism were filed in the Darus Salam police station area. In these eight cases, BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia was made an accused.
