Court Report; DHAKA – A legal notice has been served to the relevant government authorities seeking a travel ban on Dr. Muhammad Yunus, Chief Advisor of the interim government, and his council of advisors.

On Monday, Supreme Court lawyer M. Ashraful Islam sent the notice, citing allegations related to the privatization of the national measles vaccination program.

The lawyer argues that moving the vaccination system from the state-controlled framework to the private sector constitutes a “criminal act.” In a Facebook post confirming the move, Ashraful Islam stated:

“I have sent a legal notice seeking a ban on the departure of Dr. Yunus and all advisors due to their involvement in the sinister and criminal act of shifting the measles vaccination system from state management to the private sector.”

The notice demands that the authorities take immediate steps to ensure that the Chief Advisor and other members of the council cannot leave the country while these allegations are addressed.
