Nawaz Sharif is returning to the country

Foreign Desk: Three-time former prime minister  and Outgoing Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Nawaz Sharif is set to return to the country by the middle of next month.

Lawyers and political associates of the Sharif family advised the PML-N leader to return to Pakistan after completing his Europe and Middle East tour that began two months ago.

After that visit, he reached London last week. Many PML-N leaders have also told Nawaz Sharif that it would be better to return to the country by the middle of September.

A source involved in the negotiations and arrangements for Nawaz Sharif’s return to the country said, “After nearly four years in exile, Nawaz Sharif’s decision to return to Pakistan is final and everything is going well.”

Nawaz Sharif is in regular touch with former Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and PML-N Senior Vice President Maryam Nawaz regarding his return to Pakistan.

The source said that Pakistan’s newly appointed Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif would travel to London within a week to meet Nawaz.

Nawaz Sharif went to London in 2019 for treatment with the permission of the court after being convicted in a corruption case. Even after the expiry of the bail period from the court, the former Prime Minister remained in London.

PML-N is planning to welcome Nawaz Sharif after four years on the occasion of his return to the country through a grand program.
