Police HQ Issues Security Alert Over Potential Attacks on Key Installations

Special Correspondent ; Dhaka – Police Headquarters has directed all units across the country to intensify security measures following intelligence reports of potential sabotage targeting key installations.

A formal letter has been dispatched to Range DIGs, Metropolitan Commissioners, and District Superintendents of Police, warning of possible attacks by supporters of a banned extremist organization.

According to the letter signed by a DIG at Police HQ, recent investigations into arrested extremist Istiak Ahmed Sami (alias Abu Bakkar) revealed regular communication with two dismissed members of a security force.

Intelligence suggests the group might target the National Parliament House (Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban), law enforcement facilities, religious sites, entertainment centers, and high-traffic areas like Shahbagh.

The alert warns of potential bomb explosions or attacks using firearms and sharp weapons. Security around armories of various forces has also been heightened.

Authorities have labeled these individuals as high-risk threats and ordered increased surveillance and immediate legal action against any suspects.
