Rampal thermal power station Shut Down

Khairul Alam : The production of the Rampal Thermal Power Plant was halted due to a lack of coal on Sunday (July 30), The center’s power plant shut down completely from 4:30 AM.

This was confirmed by Deputy General Manager of the Rampal coal-fired thermal power plant, Anwar Al azim. He said the factory had stopped production because it had run out of coal. The power plant will restart if new coal is imported.

Anwar Al-Azim said that 31,000 metric tons of coal came from Indonesia last July 13 to this power station. But when it runs out, electricity production stops.

Before that, electricity generation and supply were halted from June 30 to July 9. After maintenance work, the power plant was commissioned on July 10th. But after six days of commissioning power generation ceased as of July 16 due to a faulty turbine at the plant.

Even before this, the Rampal Power Plant was shut down several times due to various problems including mechanical failures and maintenance.

The first unit of the 660MW Rampal Maitri super thermal power project with 1,320MW ultra-critical technology entered commercial production on December 17 last year.
